52 Weeks of Abundant Genealogy

Week #41 – Past Genealogy Resources

Week 41: Past Genealogy Resources. Nothing good lasts forever and that is definitely true in family history. Think of all the genealogy tools, magazines or websites that no longer exist. Which one stands out in your mind and why? Are there still archives of this tool that can be accessed by the public? Share any information you may have.

This week’s prompt runs from Sunday, October 7 through Saturday, October 13, 2012.

52 Weeks of Abundant Genealogy by Amy Coffin is a series of weekly blogging prompts (one for each week of 2012) that invite genealogists and others to discuss resources in the genealogy community including websites, applications, libraries, archives, genealogical societies and more. You do not have to be a blogger to participate. If you do not have a genealogy blog, write down your thoughts on your computer, or simply record them on paper and keep them with your files.

  1. My brothers, Tommy & Charles Hendricks & I grew up in Atco. We lived at 34 Ohio St. from the summer of 1944 until the summer of l952. What a great place to grow up. I have so many fond memories. My favorite past-time was roller skating all over the village & playing with all my friends. We attended Atco Baptist Church & had some wonderful teachers there. My brother Charles became a Deacon in later years & loved his Church & Church family. I still ride thru the village occasionally just to recall who lived where & recall fond memories. I feel so blessed to have grown up in such a wonderful place.
