Family & Other Stuff
http://familyandotherstuff.blogspot.com/
Blog type: Individual family history

Well, here goes for my first ever blog! I’ve been inspired by reading the various genealogy blogs around to add my little bit about family details I’ve found. Particular inspiration came from JamaGenie of the Saturday’s Child blog who has linked me to previously unknown Beckett family details over the last few months.

I’ve been doing family history research now for about 35 years on a very on/off basis, but this is my first attempt at a blog about what I’ve found so advice is always welcome!

hanging from the family tree

Hanging from the Family Tree
http://hangingwithdonna.blogspot.com/
Blog type: Individual family history

My love affair with family history began with a family tree typed and mimeographed that my husband was given by his grandmother. It came to light in the early 1990s while he was cleaning out old paperwork. It had not been updated since the late 1940s and did not include his mother’s second marriage or his youngest sister’s birth. With an early version of Family Tree Maker (V3 maybe) I began a journey that is ongoing still.

tennessee methodist

Tennessee Methodist History Blog
http://historytnumc.wordpress.com/
Blog type: Appalachian genealogy, Tennessee genealogy

Welcome to this blog for people who have an interest in the history of Methodism in Tennessee, particularly Middle Tennessee. It is an experimental process at this time. I have had mixed success with past blogs, so this will be a test at first. I will initially use it as a means to communicate information from the archives/library of the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church. I will also pass on pertinent information from others. I have set this up under my own volition, so in a sense it is unofficial, but I intend it to be an avenue for communication in my official capacity as archivist for the Conference.

I have the comments enabled so others can comment, but at present the comments must be cleared by an administrator before posting. If you wish to pose a question or start a thread, the administrator may post your comment as a new post at your request, rather than leave it as an unrelated post.

This whole process may change as we go along, but we will try it this way for now. In my past blogging experience, I have had this method be both successful and more trouble than it is worth, so we will just see.

  2. Hi, Thomas,

Thanks for spotlighting our new blogs at MyHeritage.com

Also, the name field in comments is too short. I can’t use Talalay, which is part of my writing persona! Can you adjust that field so it takes more characters? So many of use more than two names!!

    Schelly
