Here is a list of events and goings-on in the world of genealogy blogging. Here’s what is happening in the coming week:

Daze of the Week!

Some of you may have noticed that in each Genealogy Blogging Beat we now feature national holidays and some of the more offbeat holidays. Here are some dates next week to look out for so you can plan your blog posts for next week:

  • May 24: First Night Game in Baseball Played,
    Brooklyn Bridge Opening Anniversary, International Tiara Day and First Telegraph Line Opened.
  • May 25: Buddha’s Birthday. Constitutional Convention anniversary, Flower Moon, National Tap Dance Day, and Towel Day
  • May 26: Indy 500
  • May 27: Amelia Bloomer’s Birthday, Golden Gate Bridge Opening anniversary, Memorial Day, and UK Bank Holiday.
  • May 28: Amnesty International Day, Dionne Quintuplets born, and Sierra Club founded,
  • May 29: John F. Kennedy’s Birthday, Mount Everest Summit Reached anniversary, and Wisconsin Admission Day.
  • May 30: First American Daily Newspaper published.
  • May 31: Copyright Act of 1790 enacted and Johnstown Flood anniversary.

  1. Just wanted to let you know I have started a genealogy blog and have over 20 entries so far. Time will tell how consistent I will be; but hope to cover at least 5 days a week. Am a good friend of Randy Seaver’s here in San Diego. He is a great model; but there aren’t enough hours in my day to do what he does! My ambitions are a little more modest. Will say “Hi” at Jamboree, if you plan to be there. . . . .Del
