Genealogy Blog Carnivals
The next installment of Bound for Mom are due on Wednesday, April 8, 2009! The theme? Driving Lessons: “Along every mile with Mom there was usually a lesson or something to be learned – whether it was obvious to you then or now. Collect her “Momisms,” her favorite sayings, her tips and tricks – all the neat stuff she gave you so you’d make your own journey safely.“
Entries for the 11th edition of Smile for the Camera are due on Thursday, April 10 with the prompt being: Noble Life. “Show us a photograph of an ancestor, relative, or friend that is the embodiment of A Noble Life. A life that is worthy of those who came before and those who follow after. A Life filled with small but courageous acts; filled with love and honor. A simple life, an ordinary life, A Noble Life. Bring them to the carnival and share with us how you’ve honored them. Admission is free with every photograph!“
Weekly Genealogy Blogging Prompt
Check out Weekly Genealogy Blogging Prompt #13: Have expertise in a specific area of study? Share your knowledge! If you’ve lived in the same town for 60 years, you have something to share. If you’re a librarian in your day job, you have something to share. If you read Civil War history books for fun, you have something to share. If you’re walking on this Earth, you have something to share.
If you are a Twitter user, follow us @geneabloggers and join us tomorrow for Surname Saturday. Participants “tweet” about the surnames they are researching using the #surnames hashtag in each tweet. You can then search for other surname entries over at Twitter Search. Also consider joining the Genealogy Surnames group over at Twitter Groups.
