Joy Shivar, owner of JustaJoy Historical Treasures and the JustaJoy.com Family Heirloom Exchange – originally from Boonesboro, Kentucky, currently lives near Charlotte, North Carolina with husband, George.  Attended Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY.

For more than a decade JustaJoy Historical Treasures has specialized in original investment grade items of the American experience including items from the Colonial period and Revolutionary war, the Civil War, Black history, the World Wars and Presidential and Political items.  Well-known at antique shows in 11 states throughout the East and Southeast. Regularly featured in antique publications, on live TV spots and other media outlets.  Many celebrity and institutional customers including the movie “National Treasure II”, The Tennessee State Museum, Henry Gates, Jr. (of African American Lives and African American Lives II – Harvard professor and famous beer drinker), The Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, The DuSable Museum of African American History, The American Independence Museum (Exeter, NH), The Civil Rights Museum (Memphis) and the Smithsonian.

Sharon Sergeant

Sharon Sergeant specializes in investigative genealogy, longitudinal studies, and research planning. She has researched the original owners of book, letter and postcard collections, memorabilia, furniture and an 1848 stagecoach. Sharon prepared Module 2 “Problem Solving Techniques and Technology” for the Boston University genealogy certificate program. Sergeant has served on the Massachusetts Genealogy Council board and various committees for national organizations.
