New Blogger Template Designer

blog template

Great news!  Blogger has just announced the beta-version of Blogger Template Designer which allows you to easily customize your template for Blogger-based blogs!

In order to access this new feature, you must go to Blogger In Draft to access your Blogger dashboard (the normal URL will not give you access to the new feature).  And keep in mind that if you already have an unusual template or one that is highly customized, not all features of Blogger Template Designer will work.

But for those of us who struggle with what should be simple changes such as background color, enlarging font size or making sidebar columns wider, it seems that Blogger Template Designer is the answer!

  1. Thanks for posting this…I changed my template using your instructions and it was very easy. BUT I find that the scroll bar on the right works a lot slower than before.

Also, I want to center my header “Mary’s Musings” but I do not seem to be able to do this. Couldn’t do this with the old template either. One other thing I’d like to be able to do is to move the entire blog to a new URL…I know you’re the ‘genealogy man’ and not the ‘blogger man’ but maybe you could head me in the right direction for getting answers to these questions?

Thanks so much – appreciate all you do!

  2. I just changed EVERYTHING on my blog, and it was much easier than I thought. I was very nervous, but it went very smoothly. I was looking forward to expanding the space for my posts, and making it easier to read.

Thanks so much for pointing out the new template designer.

I will look and see about your heading – it may be difficult if you are using a non-standard Blogger template.

As for moving the blog to a new URL – I think I can help. I will post about that one.

    Cheers!
